You Can Study Engineering With Your Grade 9 Certificate At False Bay TVET College



The schooling landscape is evolving, and False Bay TVET College is with the forefront, recognizing that the traditional school product is not the only helpful means of studying. Their NCV programmes are built for college students who want to begin their journey toward a satisfying job early on.

CareersPortal.co.za had a chat with the Head of Division for Engineering Studies at False Bay College, about their offering.

False Bay's Engineering NCV programmes are supplied at two campuses: Westlake Campus and Khayelitsha Campus. These Engineering programmes are for a 3-yr length.

NCV Engineering Course Entry Prerequisites

These courses start at NCV level two and also the bare minimum requirement would then be Grade 9 certificate with a tvet college engineering pass in Arithmetic.

Once the student finishes NCVLevel 2, they might then have attained a grade 10 certificate. NCV Level 3 would be grade 11 and NCV Level 4 is grade 12.

NCV Level 4 is at the exit level, remaining equivalent to a Nationwide Senior Certificate (NSC).

Grade 9 is on NQF level 1. Our NCV programmes start NCV stage two that is equivalent to an NQF level 2.

On which sort of scholars are fitted to these programmes, they say that the world is acknowledging that conventional schooling isn't always the sole means of getting an artisan or becoming qualified therefore if a student knows from an early age what their pursuits are, the NCV programme is in fact completely suited for that student.
